South-East Alaska Salmon
Southeast Alaskan Salmon have richer color, firmer texture, and
better flavor than industrially-produced salmon. Rich in Omega-3,
wild Alaska salmon contain higher saturations of fatty acids that
are unique to seafood in promoting health benefits to the heart,
for pregnancy to infant development, and to the immune system. These
results come from a life spent feeding on the seas natural foods
while swimming against strong currents of the cold, clean North
Pacific and Stikine River.

The
fishing industry in Wrangell, Alaska can be traced back to the late
1800's. During that time, Wrangell served as a hub for early explorers,
entrepreneurs and Hudson Bay prospectors. Many sought gold and gave
everything they had to strike it rich. But it soon became apparent
that people weren't the only ones traveling against the currents
of the mighty Stikine River. Salmon, a sustainable, natural resource
was discovered and that made it more precious than gold!
Fishermen followed the salmon runs from the cold waters of the Pacific
Ocean to the mouth of the Stikine River. The local community responded
with the establishment of several canneries including Wrangell Seafoods.
